Biography

Louis-Alphonse Bertrand (1819–1866) was a French architect whose career flourished during the mid-nineteenth century. His architectural designs contributed to the development and beautification of Paris during a period of significant urban expansion and modernization.

Bertrand's work exemplified the architectural innovations of his era, blending traditional French design principles with contemporary approaches. His recognition as a leading architect of his time is evidenced by his burial in Père Lachaise Cemetery.
