Biography

Louis Courtois was a French physicist whose scientific investigations contributed to the advancement of nineteenth-century French science. His work in physics reflected the growing sophistication of scientific inquiry during an era of rapid technological and theoretical progress.

Active throughout the early and mid-nineteenth century, Courtois dedicated himself to scientific research and discovery. Born in 1785, he continued his work until his death in 1859, when he was laid to rest in Montmartre Cemetery. His contributions to physics formed part of France's rich scientific legacy.
