Louis J. Sacriste, born in 1843, quietly sustained the spiritual life of Mount Carmel, attending to the needs of parishioners and the rhythms of worship.

In every season he approached life with humility and care, and when he passed in 1904 his friends remembered him for the steadiness he brought to their shared faith.
