Biography

Louis Ordonneau was a French military officer born in 1770 during the ancien régime. He served his nation through the turbulent decades of the French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars, a period that tested the courage and dedication of military professionals throughout Europe.

His long life spanned eighty-five years, allowing him to witness the transformation of France from monarchy to republic to empire and back again. He died in 1855 and was buried in Autouillet, a final resting place befitting his distinguished military service.
