Biography

Lucie Dejardin fought for labour rights and women’s representation, rising from the mines of Liège to become a pioneering politician who brought the concerns of working people into the halls of parliament.

She remained steadfast through the pressures of wartime, and when she passed in 1945 she was honored at the ancien cimetière de Heusay for her role as a trailblazer in Belgian civic life.
