Biography
Lucy F. Simms (1855–1934) lived a long life of seventy-nine years, spanning from the post-Civil War era through the early twentieth century. She witnessed tremendous social, technological, and cultural changes throughout her lifetime as an American woman.
Simms is remembered at Newtown Cemetery, where she was laid to rest. Her life reflects the experiences of women of her generation who lived through one of the most transformative periods in American history.
