Biography
Lucy Rider Meyer was an educator who championed the professional training of women for Christian service, founding the Chicago Training School for City, Home, and Foreign Missions to equip teachers and missionaries with practical knowledge and spiritual courage.
Her influence reached classrooms across the region through her textbooks, lectures, and the many graduates who carried her vision forward, and her memory remains warmly held by the faithful at Oak Woods Cemetery.
