Biography

Lucy Stanton was among the first African American women to graduate from college, earning her degree at Oberlin and using her education to inspire others through lectures in abolition, temperance, and women's rights.

Throughout her life she remained a teacher, writer, and advocate, bringing compassionate leadership to the Los Angeles community where she lived in her later years and sustaining networks of mutual aid.
