Biography

Ludovic Chadabet (1839–1871) lived a brief life during a transformative period in French history. Born during the reign of Louis-Philippe, he came of age during the Second Empire and witnessed the dramatic events of the Franco-Prussian War and the Paris Commune that marked the end of the 1860s.

His death at thirty-two years of age occurred during one of the most turbulent periods in modern French history. He was interred in Père Lachaise Cemetery, the historic burial ground in Paris.
