Biography

Ludwig Heck was a distinguished German zoologist whose scientific contributions advanced the understanding of animal life and natural history. Born in 1860, he dedicated his career to zoological research and education during a period of significant scientific progress in Germany.

Heck's work reflected the intellectual vitality of late nineteenth and early twentieth-century Munich. His legacy in zoological science endured beyond his death in 1951, and he was honored with burial in Munich Forest Cemetery.
