Biography
Luke Sewell (1901–1987) was a steady presence in American baseball, admired for his reliable work as a major league catcher and for guiding teams as a manager and coach whose calm leadership helped younger players grow.
Even after leaving the dugout he stayed involved with the sport, offering guidance to aspiring athletes and portraying the game with dignity, and he now rests at Rose Hill Burial Park.
