Luther Manship

Biography

Born in 1853, Luther Manship was a steadfast presence in the lives of those around him, quietly nurturing the bonds of family and community through the closing decades of the nineteenth century and into the new century. Though he did not seek the spotlight, his kindness and dependability left a gentle mark on Greenwood and the people who drew comfort from his steady friendship.

When he passed in 1915, his community remembered a life lived with grace, and his remains were laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery, where friends and kin continue to honor his memory amid the shade of the trees he once knew.
