Biography

Luther Whiting Mason (1818-1896) devoted much of his life to music education, publishing method books and compositions that made singing accessible in schools and community gatherings across the nation.

Buried at Buckfield Village Cemetery, he is remembered for guiding generations of teachers and students toward a richer understanding of music while encouraging a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
