Makhluf Avitan

Biography

Makhluf Avitan, born in 1908, was a pioneer and settler who brought determination and hope to the early kibbutz movement. He embraced communal life with a spirit of cooperation, helping to cultivate the land and build a thriving settlement that reflected shared values.

Avitan’s commitment to pioneering ideals inspired others to persevere through hardship and focus on a collective future. He passed away in 1960 and is laid to rest in Tidhar, where his memory lives on among those who continue the work he began.
