Malcolm X (1925-1965) was a fearless advocate for the rights of African Americans, traveling widely to speak about self-determination, education, and justice while challenging the nation to honor its highest ideals; he is buried at Ferncliff Cemetery.

Though his life was cut short, his relentless pursuit of equality continues to inspire activists and ordinary citizens alike to confront injustice with courage and clarity.
