Biography
Marcellus M. Crocker was a talented soldier whose brief but impactful career in the Civil War earned him the admiration of his comrades. A West Point graduate and leader of the famed Iron Brigade, he displayed courage and resolve in some of the earliest and most desperate fights of the war.
Though his life was cut short shortly after the conflict, his strategic skill and earnest devotion to his troops remain part of the legacy honored by those who visit Woodland Cemetery today.
