Biography

Margarita Aliger was a distinguished Soviet writer and poet whose literary career spanned much of the twentieth century. Born in 1915, she became known for her contributions to Russian literature during a transformative period in her nation's history.

Aliger's work reflected the complexities of her era, and she maintained an active presence in Soviet literary circles throughout her life. She passed away in 1992 and was laid to rest in Peredelkino Cemetery, a final resting place that honors many of Russia's most celebrated cultural figures.
