Biography

Maria Eleonore von Kaunitz (1775–1825) was an Austrian aristocrat of the prominent Kaunitz family, one of the most influential noble houses in the Habsburg Empire. She lived during a period of significant political transformation in Central Europe, witnessing the Napoleonic Wars and the subsequent Congress of Vienna that reshaped the continent.

As a member of the Kaunitz family, Maria Eleonore occupied an important position in Viennese high society. She was interred in the Metternich tomb, reflecting the close connections between her family and the circle of Prince Clemens von Metternich, the influential Austrian statesman who dominated European diplomacy during her lifetime.
