Marie Péan was a French woman who lived through the transformative years of the late 18th and 19th centuries. Her life spanned from the eve of the French Revolution through the reign of King Louis-Philippe, witnessing profound changes in French society and culture.
Péan's long life of sixty-three years allowed her to experience multiple political regimes and social transformations. She was laid to rest in Père Lachaise Cemetery, one of Paris's most distinguished final resting places.
