Biography
Marie Pouillet was born in 1828 during the Restoration period of French history, a time of relative stability following the Napoleonic Wars. She came of age during the July Monarchy and the early years of the Second Empire, experiencing the cultural and social developments of mid-19th-century France.
Pouillet's life was tragically brief, ending in 1850 at the age of 22. Despite her short years, she was honored with burial at Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris, one of the most distinguished burial grounds in France, where her memory was preserved among notable Parisians.
