Marie Rambert devoted her life to dance, founding Ballet Rambert to nurture new choreographers and ensure that modern ballet remained bold and accessible. Her tireless promotion of dance education helped make Britain a leading centre for contemporary choreography.
She inspired countless dancers to pursue daring movement and helped shape the artistic imagination of the 20th century. Her resting place at Golders Green Crematorium honors a dancer, teacher, and impresario of extraordinary heart.
