Biography

Marie Walewska (1787–1817) was a Polish noblewoman whose life, though brief, left an indelible mark on Polish and European history. Born into the prominent Łączyński family, she became known for her intelligence, grace, and influence during the Napoleonic era.

Walewska's legacy is remembered as one of courage and devotion during Poland's struggle for independence. She died at the young age of 30, leaving behind a memory cherished by those who knew her. She was interred in Saint Margaret Church in Kiernozia, where her memory continues to be honored.
