Biography

Marija Leiko was a stage actor whose career contributed to the cultural life of the Russian theater. Her work on stage represented the artistic traditions of the early Soviet period, bringing characters and stories to audiences across the region.

Leiko's promising career was cut short when she was executed at the Butovo firing range in 1938, a victim of the widespread purges that devastated the Soviet intelligentsia and creative community.
