Biography

Mariya Arsenyeva was a Russian hegumen who served the Eastern Orthodox Church during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Her spiritual leadership and dedication to monastic life reflected the deep religious traditions of Imperial Russia during a period of significant social change.

Arsenyeva's life spanned the final decades of the Russian Empire and the tumultuous early years of the Soviet period. She was laid to rest at Krasnoe Cemetery, where her memory is preserved among other notable figures of her era.
