Markus Brauner was born in 1838 and became an active member of the Brno Jewish community during the latter half of the nineteenth century. He lived fifty-one years, contributing to the life and continuity of his community during a period of significant social change.
His burial in the Jewish cemetery in Brno in 1889 marked the end of a life lived within the community he was part of throughout his years.
