Biography

Markus Dubsky was born in 1859 and grew to adulthood during a period of relative prosperity for the Brno Jewish community. He lived through the final years of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and witnessed the establishment of Czechoslovakia before his death in 1919.

Dubsky's life encompassed significant historical transitions, from the late imperial period through the upheaval of World War I and its aftermath. He remains part of the historical memory of Brno's Jewish community, preserved in the Jewish cemetery in Brno.
