Biography
Martemyan Ryutin was a Soviet politician and Old Bolshevik who held positions within the Communist Party apparatus during the 1920s and 1930s. He was an active participant in Soviet political life during a period of significant ideological debate and factional struggle within the party.
Ryutin's death in 1937 coincided with the Great Purge, a period of severe political repression in the Soviet Union. He was interred at Donskoe cemetery in Moscow, joining many others whose careers and lives were terminated during this dark chapter of Soviet history.
