Biography
Martin Krejčí was a Czech whose life spanned the late 19th and early 20th centuries, a period of remarkable transformation for the Czech lands. He lived through the final decades of Austro-Hungarian rule and witnessed the birth of an independent Czech nation.
Krejčí's death in 1918 marked the end of his life as the Czechoslovak state was being established. He is remembered as part of a generation that experienced both the old order and the promise of national independence. He was interred at Olšany Cemetery in Prague.
