Martin Murphy Sr.

Biography

Martin Murphy Sr. was among the early settlers whose dedication helped lay down roots in the Santa Clara area; his years from 1785 to 1865 were devoted to building a welcoming place for future generations. He was known for sharing both labor and hope with newcomers.

He is buried at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, where his pioneering efforts continue to inspire gratitude.
