Mary A. Wray

Biography

Mary A. Wray was born in 1805 and witnessed the sweeping changes of the nineteenth century along the lakeshore, cultivating a reputation for steadfast kindness and gentle hospitality. She kept her family close, offered support to neighbors, and carried herself with the quiet dignity expected of someone navigating so many transitions.

When she passed in 1892 the community remembered the warmth she shared, and she was laid to rest at Edgewater Cemetery, where the peaceful grounds still echo her generous spirit.
