Biography

Mary Anna Whiting Boardman was born in 1767 and saw the birth of the republic, the War of 1812, and the spread of democracy across the new states. Her life in the Center community connected her to neighbors who shared news, labor, and prayer.

She died in 1848 and was laid to rest at Center Cemetery, leaving behind memories of hospitality and steadiness. Boardman's long life is a testament to the matriarchs whose care kept local communities vibrant.
