Biography

Mary Taaffe was a lady-in-waiting who served in the imperial court during the late Austro-Hungarian period. Born in 1866, she was part of the aristocratic circles that surrounded Vienna's imperial institutions, participating in court life during a significant era in European history.

Her position reflected both social standing and the trust placed in her by the imperial household. Taaffe served with distinction until her death in 1928, having witnessed and participated in the final decades of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
