Matthew J. Betts

Biography

Matthew J. Betts, born in 1824, built a life defined by reliability and considerate stewardship of his affairs. He took pride in fostering economic opportunity and in serving as a trusted advisor within circles that valued integrity above all.

When he died in 1890 he was interred at Green-Wood Cemetery, and his circle of friends and family continue to recall the gentleness with which he offered support during both prosperous and difficult times.
