Biography

Maud Nathan was an influential philanthropist and social reformer whose tireless advocacy strengthened labor protections and consumer awareness in New York City. As a leading voice within the National Consumers League and a passionate supporter of women’s suffrage, she worked to ensure that the voices of working families were heard in the corridors of power.

Her efforts extended beyond reform to include mentorship for younger activists and encouragement of charitable endeavors that eased the burdens of the poor. Mrs. Nathan’s legacy is preserved not only through the causes she championed but also through the lives she touched, a testament to a compassionate spirit now at peace at Beth Olam Cemetery.
