Maxime Auguste-Vitu (1855–1911) was a French editor-in-chief who played a significant role in French journalism and publishing. His editorial work shaped the dissemination of information and ideas during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

Auguste-Vitu's contributions to French journalism were recognized through his burial at Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris, one of France's most distinguished resting places.
