Biography
Maxime Faget helped give form to America's early human spaceflight efforts, designing the Mercury capsule that carried the first astronauts beyond the atmosphere and guiding subsequent programs with his keen engineering eye.
He remained a mentor to generations of designers, sharing both imagination and discipline as he prepared them for new adventures, now remembered at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
