Biography
Meir Aharonson, born in 1872, was a businessperson whose enterprises supported the economic life of the Yishuv and fostered trade that connected local producers with broader markets.
He invested in community institutions, encouraged fair practices, and was remembered for his integrity as he continued to bolster the commercial foundation of the settlements until his death in 1935; he now rests in Trumpeldor cemetery.
