Melchor López was a Spanish composer born in 1759. He contributed to the rich musical heritage of Spain during the late 18th and early 19th centuries, creating works that reflected the artistic sensibilities of his era.

López's compositions enriched Spanish musical culture during a formative period in European music history. He died in 1822 and was honored with burial at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, one of Spain's most significant religious and cultural landmarks.
