Biography

Michel-Ferdinand Routhier (1798–1823) was a French lawyer whose promising career was cut short by his untimely death at age twenty-five. Despite his brief life, he represented the generation of legal professionals who came of age during the Napoleonic period and the early years of the Restoration.

Routhier's early death prevented him from reaching the full potential his legal training promised. He was interred in the Grave of Routhier, a memorial to a young life dedicated to the law and to France.
