Biography

Mikhail Muravyov (1757–1807) was a Russian writer and intellectual who contributed to the literary culture of the late 18th century. As a member of the educated nobility, he participated in the intellectual currents that shaped Russian letters during the reign of Catherine the Great and the early years of Alexander I.

Muravyov's fifty-year life concluded in Moscow, where he was buried at Lazarev Cemetery. His legacy as a writer reflects the important role that noble intellectuals played in developing Russian literary traditions during this formative period.
