Biography

Mikhail Volkonsky was a distinguished Russian translator whose work bridged Russian and Western European literary traditions during the early twentieth century. His translations helped introduce important works to Russian audiences and demonstrated a deep understanding of both linguistic nuance and cultural context.

Based in the Moscow region, Volkonsky contributed significantly to the cultural life of his era. He spent his final years in Peredelkino, the renowned writers' community, where he remained active in literary circles until his death in 1961.
