Biography

Mikhail Voronov (1840–1873) was a Russian writer whose literary career, though brief, contributed to the rich intellectual life of 19th-century Russia. He came of age during a period of significant literary innovation and social consciousness in Russian letters.

Voronov's legacy is preserved at Vagankovo Cemetery in Moscow, among other notable Russian cultural figures. His relatively short life of 33 years nonetheless left an imprint on Russian literary culture during the turbulent and creative 1860s and early 1870s.
