Biography

Miklós Gimes used journalism as a tool of conscience, informing readers and listeners with clarity, even as the atmosphere became increasingly stifling. His writing sought to illuminate truth and to encourage thoughtful debate among citizens.

In 1956 he was among those who answered the call for national renewal, standing with the people as they voiced their demands for justice and dignity, and he paid the ultimate price for that fidelity to principle.
