Biography
Milan Rastislav Štefánik was a Slovak astronomer, diplomat, and general whose extraordinary intellect and courage helped shape the future of Czechoslovakia. A pioneer in astrophysics, he made important observations in observatories across Europe before turning his talents to the cause of his homeland.
As one of the founding fathers of Czechoslovakia, he balanced scientific acumen with political leadership, steadfastly working alongside Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk and Edvard Beneš. He is honored in the Mausoleum of Milan Rastislav Štefánik, a revered site commemorating his lasting legacy.
