Biography

Minik Wallace (1890–1918) was born in Greenland and brought to the United States as a child, where he became both the subject of public fascination and a steady advocate for remembering the Inuit homeland he loved.

He spent his short life teaching others about his culture, caring for his family, and striving to preserve the stories that might otherwise have been lost, showing remarkable strength in the face of dislocation.
