Biography
Miriam MacMillan, born in 1905, carried the wide Atlantic and the icy horizons beyond Cape Cod into her lifelong pursuit of storytelling and exploration. While sailing with her husband on the Arctic seas, she chronicled experiences through sketches, journals, and a warm chronicler's voice, then later turned to sharing those adventures with a broader audience and supporting maritime research.
In Provincetown she welcomed artists and scholars to her home, championed the arts, and cultivated a generous spirit that buoyed the harbor community; she now rests among the familiar dunes at Provincetown Cemetery.
