Biography
Rabbi Mordechai Elefant shepherded his community with pastoral warmth and thoughtful rabbinic guidance, drawing on decades of study to help families celebrate their traditions and meet life’s challenges with meaning. He was known for his steady presence, his clarity in explaining sacred texts, and his willingness to listen deeply to the burdens and joys of others.
He nurtured a circle of spiritual seekers and friends who valued his humility and perseverance, even as the world around them transformed. He passed in 2009 and rests in Har HaMenuchot, remembered for a lifetime of compassionate leadership.
