Catholic bishop

Biography

Bishop Moses Anderson, ordained in 1954, served the Catholic Church with a deep pastoral heart, first as auxiliary bishop of Detroit and later as the bishop of the Diocese of Toledo, where he shepherded parishes through decades of change while always insisting that the church stand firmly for justice. He encouraged youth and families to engage in their communities, believing that faith led to acts of service and bridge-building.

He also worked to strengthen ecumenical partnerships and spoke with kindness to those wrestling with doubt, offering a steady presence in both celebrations and times of grief. Serenity Memorial Gardens became his final resting place, where his contributions to faith and fairness continue to be remembered.
