Biography
Moses Dickson, born into slavery in 1824, became a powerful voice for abolition and the founder of fraternal societies that trained men and women in self-reliance and mutual aid.
He shepherded generations through emancipation and the struggles that followed, and the Father Dickson Cemetery that now bears his name keeps his spirit close to those who continue his fight for justice.
