Mother Eliswa Vakayil

Biography

Mother Eliswa Vakayil (1831–1913) was a devoted nun whose religious life spanned more than eight decades of faithful service. Her commitment to her faith and her community exemplified the spiritual dedication of religious women in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Mother Eliswa's long life of service left an indelible mark on those she encountered and the institutions she supported. She was interred at Varappuzha, where her memory is honored as part of the spiritual heritage of her religious community and the region she served with devotion.
